Studio Policies & Procedures

Before attending class, please review the Policies & Procedures.

Please peruse below with the child in your care, then complete your enrollment. PLEASE Read these policies in full. Your online or physical signature and/or enrollment or attendance in any class, event or session indicates and confirms that you and your family fully understand, accept and will abide by all policies and procedures outlined on this page the contract page., and displayed on signs and didactics on the studio walls.

Safety / Behavior Policy

  • Cell phones and smart watches are prohibited during class time. Kids may use them to contact parents before or after class, or in the event of an emergency

  • All rules and procedures are outlined in class, posted on the wall and reviewed as needed. 

  • There is a strict no-bullying/ no harassment policy at Hudson Heights Art Studio. HHAS is an inclusive and respectful community. All ages, genders, sexual preferences, religions, countries of origin, political and spiritual beliefs will be respected.

  • All members agree that they are responsible for the safe handling of tools and materials they use and share. Materials must be used for their intended purposes. All members agree to clean up after themselves, and return all materials to their appropriate place.

  • Safe use of materials and safe navigation of our physical space is a priority at HHAS. However, all members agree that injures may occur, and that HHAS will not be held responsible for any injuries. Protective gloves are provided on premises. 

  • In our studio, “shopping” for or theft of materials is not allowed. No unused materials may go home. Materials are to be used on the premises of HHAS only.

  • Just as in a movie theater, for all students under the age of 18, all subject matter must be rated “G” for General Audiences. A G-rated classroom contains nothing in theme, language, nudity, sex, violence or other matters that would offend caregivers or children. No images or discussion of illicit or illegal acts are permitted in our art studio

  • All members understand that images and renditions of the human figure are ubiquitous in the world of art. All children’s books have been screened and edited. In our resource library, Content such the nude figure may be present in some adult oriented art books. These books are intended for adults, and will never be intentionally shown to children. However, all members understand and agree that exposure to such imagery may occur accidentally, and that Hudson Heights Art Studio will not be held responsible.

  • Our bathroom is a busy place! We request that each student be responsible to clean up after themselves, and leave the bathroom in good condition.

  • NO STUDENT IS PERMITTED TO CREATE A 3D SCULPTURE, IN ANY MATERIAL, OF A HANDHELD TYPE WEAPON. THEREFORE, NO SCULPTURE IN CARDBOARD, CLAY, PAPER, ETC. OF ANY TYPE OF KNIFE, GUN OR SWORD IS ALLOWED. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF STUDIO PRIVILEGES.

    The following are the rules & consequences, posted on the wall in the studio:

    NO WEAPONS Allowed!

    You may not create any 3D hand weapons.

    So, no Knives, Guns or Swords.

    You are allowed to draw weapons.

    If you create a 3D weapon:

    1. Your project may be thrown away.

    2. Jeff will contact your parents.

    3. If you ignore the rules, and make ANOTHER weapon- You may lose the privilege of time at the art studio.

    IF THIS IS NOT AGREEABLE WITH YOU/IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO PARTNER WITH THE STUDIO IN ENFORCING THIS RULE, PLEASE RESPECT OUR DIFFERENCES AND, DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD IN HUDSON HEIGHTS ART STUDIO.

At the discretion of the owner, Hudson Heights Art Studio can prohibit a family or child from attending a current or future class/session due to: Inappropriate use of materials. Theft of materials. Refusal to pay at drop-off or pick-up. Refusal to follow our support the Studio rules and structures. Refusal to respect the position and responsibilities of the owner/teacher, or any staff member. Disruption to the class, or due to physical or emotional harm caused to another student, teacher or staff member. If you or your child are removed from a class or session you will be entitled to receive a refund for that class, and any scheduled future classes.

Snack / Food Safety / Food Allergies

  • Families may provide a snack and a drink for themselves and/or their child. While HHAS does not typically provide something to eat during morning and daytime classes, parties, events or sessions, snacks and a water bottle are permitted and encouraged. HHAS always have cups and water available. Hudson Heights Art Studio will not be held responsible for any injuries that may occur when children eat or drink at any time.

  • In addition, HHAS provides or allows for food and drink during select classes, parties, events or sessions. Hudson Heights Art Studio will not be held responsible for any injuries that may occur when any attendees eat or drink at any time.

  • HHAS is a Nut Free Zone! Please do not bring or send your child to our facility with nuts of any kind. Please notify staff if you or your child have any food allergies.

Cancellations / Refunds & Credits

The studio understands that plans change! Credits and refunds are granted in most situations. Refunds or credits cannot be granted after a sold out session has started (with clients on the waiting list that have been turned away). School Vacation Studio has its own specific rules. Sibling Discounts

After you pay the full rate for the first child, each additional sibling gets a 15% discount off the class price*. Following registration into the system, this benefit activates automatically when booking.

*There is no sibling discount for School Vacation Studio, with the following exception.

*For families who wish to register 3 or more children, this benefit is for any class, including School Vacation Studio. Please email Jeff if you intend to register your 3 children in the same class.

Financial Aid

A discount is offered to:

  • All Families in need of financial support.

Lost & Found

Please write your child’s name on all personal property. All unnamed, unclaimed, or lost items will remain at the Studio for 3 weeks. Any items that remain unclaimed will be considered public property, and be donated to the community.

Photo Consent

By enrolling at Hudson Heights Art Studio you agree that you, your family or child’s likeness may be used for the purposes of HHAS internal and external publications, promotions, newsletters, presentations, websites, emails and local/national newspaper articles. We understand and respect the need for privacy. You may revoke this authorization at any time by notifying the founder in person or writing. Please let us know before any images are posted, as we can not always delete or undo images already published.

ADA Web Compliance

  • When registering for a class, or if you have any questions, there are multiple ways to contact the studio to receive information. Please feel free to call or email Jeff the owner with any questions or support needs. In addition you are welcome to tour the studio and meet with Jeff in-person for any support or guidance. COVID-19 Precautions & Policies

  • Masks are available in the studio for anyone who requests one. 

  • As of 12/2025 Jeff is fully vaccinated, and has received 9 booster shots. He has received the most recent booster & flu shot.
